On the 14th of May 2009 in Hotel Sirius in Strumica, the Second Meeting of the Council for Development of East Planning Region was held.

The meeting started with the adoption on Minute from Constitutive meeting on Council for Development of the East Planning Region held on 10.05.2009 in Shtip and Minute from XXIII (twenty third) meeting on Council for Development of the East Planning Region in old composition, held on 13.03.2009 in Shtip.

The main point of the meeting was to provide information about the Centre for Development of the East Planning Region and its activities.

The manager of the Centre for Development of the East Planning Region Mrs. Dracica Zdraveva provided a presentation on the previous and current activities of the Centre.  The President of the Council reported that information provided from the Manager of the Centre for Development of the East Planning Region Mrs. Dracica Zdraveva was useful for the work of the Council.

After the finishing of the Second Meeting of the Council for Development of the East Planning Region is held and XVI (sixteen) “Regional Assembly on Mayors from Bregalnica-Strumica Region” 20 Mayors from both Regions took part in the regional assembly.

At the assembly it was noted that the work during the past four years has been very constructive at the quarterly meetings.

Representatives from GTZ RED Uve Krapitz and Jens Adler presented:

• Program for regional economic development in Macedonia (GTZ RED);
• Introduction to Regional economic development and regional management,
• Preparative activities for study trip to Mayors in Germany;
• Proposal topics for contemplating on the following meetings on the Assembly on Mayors.
