XVII (seventeenth) Regional Assembly of Mayors from Bregalnica-Strumica Region, supported by GTZ RED, was held on 28.09.2009 in Pehchevo. 20 Mayors from both regions were present on the Assembly, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Local self-government, employees from the Centers of the East and South-East planning regions and representatives from GTZ RED. As special guests on the Assembly we had Mayors from Municipalities Brvenica, Tearce, Bogovinje, Makedonski Brod and Vevchani.
 

The meeting of XVII (seventeenth) Regional Assembly of Mayors from Bregalnica-Strumica Region was held by the afore-fixed Agenda. On the beginning of the Assembly, the Mayors adopted the minutes from XVI (sixteenth) Regional Assembly of Mayors from Bregalnica-Strumica Region, after which followed Report from Mayors study trip in Germany with summary of positive examples. After that the consultant from Germany, Mr. Uwe Krappitz, awarded Certificates to the Mayors, signed by InWEnt and afterwards he talked about different possibilities for financing regional development. During the regional Assembly there was discussion on the upcoming regional activities, planned and expected to be realized in the next period. The Centre for Development of the East Planning region presented 4 (four) regional project proposals, while South-East 3 (three). Each region should select one project to be implemented and financed (50% from GTZ RED and 50% from Centers). Centre for Development of the East Planning region proposed these projects:
-    Modernization of the regional stock market in Obleshevo village;
-    Establishment of a center for production of certified fruit seeds;
-    Plachkovica – bridging regions;
-    Enriching the content and tourist facilities in the East planning region.

After the Assembly finished, the Mayors from both regions played a football match. The match was very interesting and exciting, whereas the mayors of East planning region showed better football skills and won with the score 3-0.
