ZELS (Association of local self-government units) organized a Fair of Municipalities “ZELS EXPO” on 25-26.11.2009 in Skopje.  On the Fair, except for the municipalities, for the first time also the Centres of the planning regions took part. The Centre for Development of the East Planning Region with support of GTZ RED, took part and represented the region. On the Fair, together with the Centre for Development of the East planning region on the same stand, six municipalities from the region (Karbinci, Probishtip, Cheshinovo-Obleshevo, Delchevo and Zrnovci) also presented their possibilities and potentials for development.

The Center for Development of the East Planning Region made the promotional materials and banners for the region and also provides typical products from the region for this event. During the two days, the stand of the Centre had many visitors and this was a great opportunity to introduce the work and the activities of the Centre as well as to present the region to the visitors. Many visitors were positively surprised by the beauties and resources available in the region as well as potentials for future development.
The participation at this Fair contributes networking of the Centre with other actors on regional issues, as well as with other municipalities, various organizations from Macedonia and international institutions that are established in Macedonia. The Centre established links with potential partner organisations in implementing future projects. The Centre has signed  Memorandum of understanding with some of these institutions with the aim of further cooperation
