Planning of regional development is performed through elaboration of planning documents. Planning documents for regional development are the following:

• Strategy for regional development of Republic of Macedonia, and
• Programme for Development of the planning region.

For implementation of the Programme for development of East planning region 2009-2013 is fetch yearly action plan.

The action plan specifies areas and strategy targets with concrete planning activities, time frame, bearers of activities and needed financial resources for its realisation.

The Action plan 2009 for realisation of the Programme for development of the East planning region 2009-2013 has strated with implementation. By the end of the third quarter of this year, the Action plan for 2010 should be elaborated in the form of draft-action plan for implementation of the Programme for development of the East planning region. Draft action plan is prepared by the Centre for development of the East planning region, approved by Council for development of the East planning region.
