Planning for regional development in the South – East represents one of the fundamental steps towards fulfilling the mission of the regional centre for development. In addition, the centre for regional development in the South-East region marks the beginning of the process for identification, promotion, management and utilizing developmental potentials of the South – East planning region.
A globe embroidered in the ribbons of the European flag, smiling children's faces, works of art created by the smallest creative hands, reaction in action, balloons in the colors of the EU, a children's chatter with wide smiles framed in a colorful framework and children's creations that the Center for development of the South-East planning region on October 5, 2018 marked the European Cooperation day.
In Strumica on 05th of Оctober 2018 the last workshop was held within the project “South East Europe Urban Resilience Building Action Network” – SEE URBAN, which the Centre for development of the South-East planning region is implementing in partnership with UNDP in close cooperation with stakeholders from 6 other countries, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo and Albania and it is financed by European Union Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection Programme (DG ECHO).
On 3rd of October 2018, the Head of the Centre for development of the South-East planning region Ms. Zhulieta Gjurkova, representatives from the Centre for development of the South-East planning region, the Mayor of the Municipality of Strumica Mr. Kosta Janevski as well as other stakeholders from the region, attended at the introduction into working process of construction of the company-contractor “DPTUGU ATTRUM DOO”, Vevchani, for the construction of the Shelter for homeless animals in the Municipality of Strumica.
Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) is part of the package for external relations. IPA and other elements of the package are a great opportunity for streamlining and simplifying the procedures of the European Commission and improving the coherence and coordination of the activities of the Commission.
