Planning for regional development in the South – East represents one of the fundamental steps towards fulfilling the mission of the regional centre for development. In addition, the centre for regional development in the South-East region marks the beginning of the process for identification, promotion, management and utilizing developmental potentials of the South – East planning region.
On 11th and 12th of April 2019 in Serres, Greece, the third meeting of the project team of the project "Integrated Operations Center for Providing Humanitarian Assistance - HELP" financed by the European Union through the Interreg IPA Cross-border Program and the National funds of the participating countries, was held.
Present at the third meeting were the project teams from the following organizations: Research committee of Technological Educational Institute of Central Macedonia within the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Serres - Greece, Ministry of Interior (Sector Macedonia - Thrace) – Greece, Centre for development of the South-East planning region, R. N.Macedonia, Hellenic Rescue Team - Greece and Crisis Management Centre, R. N.Macedonia.
On 14.03.2019 in Municipality of Strumica, the 10th regular Meeting of the Council for development of the South- East planning region was held.
Present at this meeting were the Mayors of the municipalities of the region, representatives from the Centre for development of the South-East planning region and other stakeholders who were interested to discuss on current issues that are happening in the region.
On 01.02.2019, in the hotel "Sirius" in Strumica, the Third regional forum session for identification of project ideas for the Grant Scheme was held within the project "Sustainable and Inclusive Balanced Regional Development".
During this session, the community from the region presented 5 project concepts which were developed during the Second Forum Session by the working groups as well as during the meetings between the sessions in accordance with the suggestions made by the project unit.
Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) is part of the package for external relations. IPA and other elements of the package are a great opportunity for streamlining and simplifying the procedures of the European Commission and improving the coherence and coordination of the activities of the Commission.
