In the framework of the project "Improving municipal governance", on 4 July 2018 years (Wednesday), in the premises of the hotel "Sirius", Strumica, the Center for development of the South-East planning region organized a working meeting for the new UNDP-funded grant scheme. The meeting was attended by representatives from the ten municipalities in the South-East planning region, the NGO sector and representatives from the Center for Development of the South-East Planning Region..
The purpose of the meeting was to introduce the representatives of the attendees sectors with the criteria for qualification of projects, the conditions for submitting the project proposals and the procedure for selecting projects. Project proposals should have an impact on the territory of three or more municipalities in the South-East planning region, as well as to influence one of the listed strategic objectives: improved social cohesion, improved environmental management and infrastructure, and support to local economic growth and development.
The participants of the working meeting were divided into working groups where proposed were proposals and according to the points received from all participants, the ranking list of project proposals was determined.
The project proposals with the most points The Center for development of the South-East planning region will present to the Council for development of the South-East planning region where all the mayors will choose a project.
The total amount of the grant scheme to be awarded to the eight planning regions is 270,000 euros.
Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) is part of the package for external relations. IPA and other elements of the package are a great opportunity for streamlining and simplifying the procedures of the European Commission and improving the coherence and coordination of the activities of the Commission.
