Within the framework of the project "Integrated Operations Center for Providing Humanitarian Assistance - HELP" co-funded by European Union under the 1st call for proposals of the Interreg - IPA CBC Programme Greece - R.Macedonia, the second meeting of the project team was held in the period from 24th to 25th September, (Monday and Tuesday), in the Business Hall in Hotel Sirius, Strumica.
Present at this meeting were the team members of the project: Centre for development of the South-East planning region, the Research committee of Technological Educational Institute of Central Macedonia, the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Serres - Greece, the Ministry of Interior (Sector Macedonia - Thrace), Hellenic Rescue Team, Greece and Crisis Management Centre, R. Macedonia.
The main goal of the meeting was to present the design and technical documentation for the development of the container which has a key role for the successful implementation of the project. The Lead partner of the project presented detailed analysis and description of the software components that the container should contain. In addition, the progress of the project activities and the deadlines for their implementation for each project partners were discussed, the problems and challenges faced during the implementation of certain activities as well as the following activities that should be completed within the project.
The next meeting of the project team is planned to be held next year in Greece.
The project is with a total budget of 905.553,30 EUR, and it will be implemented 18 months until October 2019.
Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) is part of the package for external relations. IPA and other elements of the package are a great opportunity for streamlining and simplifying the procedures of the European Commission and improving the coherence and coordination of the activities of the Commission.
