The Centre for development of the South-East planning region on 15.02.2019 in hotel Sirius, Strumica has organized the Second forum session for identification of project ideas for the open Grant Scheme within the project "Sustainable and Inclusive Balanced Regional Development".
The participants presented nine draft concepts that were developed during the first forum session. The proposed concepts are related to the preservation of the environment, infrastructure in the field of tourism, improvement of the tourist offer, support to the business sector through the establishment of regional business incubators, installation of urban equipment, formation of regional markets and others.
In an active atmosphere, the representatives of the municipalities from the South-East planning region, NGOs, business sector and other present stakeholders discussed the regional significance of the proposed projects, the compliance of the projects with the conditions for its selection, as well as the possibility of their improvement according to the given criteria by the donor.
Present at the forum session were the representatives of the Swiss Agency for development and cooperation Ms. Maria Karaeva, Ms. Vesna Goceva and the Ministry of Local Self-Government Ms. Jasmina Hot who presented significant guidelines for improving the proposed concepts.
In order to implement successfully the process for selecting priority projects, the Centre for development of the South-East planning region will organize another forum session that will be held on 01.03.2019, during which the community will vote for the selection of priority projects that will be proposed to the donor for funding.
The project "Sustainable and Inclusive Balanced Regional Development" is financially supported by the Swiss Agency for development and cooperation and the Ministry of Local Self-Government.
Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) is part of the package for external relations. IPA and other elements of the package are a great opportunity for streamlining and simplifying the procedures of the European Commission and improving the coherence and coordination of the activities of the Commission.
