On 14.03.2019 in Municipality of Strumica, the 10th regular Meeting of the Council for development of the South- East planning region was held. 

Present at this meeting were the Mayors of the municipalities of the region, representatives from the Centre for development of the South-East planning region and other stakeholders who were interested to discuss on current issues that are happening in the region.

 

At this session, the following important issues of regional interest were discussed and several important decisions were made by the Mayors: Decision for adoption of MоМ from the 9th Meeting of the Council for development of the South-East planning region, Decision for adoption of the Annual Inventory Report of the Centre for development of the South-East Planning Region for 2018, Decision on adoption of the final accounts for 2018 of the Centre for development of the South-East Planning Region, Decision for adoption of the Annual Report on the work of the Centre for development of the South-East planning region for 2018, Decision for confirmation of the three project concepts that are ranked with the highest score during the regional forums for applying to the grant scheme within the project "Sustainable and Inclusive Balanced Regional Development."

At this session the representative of the Association of electronic media "Media Objective" presented the new legal amendments to the Law on Audiovisual Media Services, referring to the Mayors that with these changes the Local Authorities cannot provide any budget for information regarding their services or activities through broadcasters to the public. After the presentation, the Mayors agreed that they would seek an opportunity to revise this law.

 

Funds

Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) is part of the package for external relations. IPA and other elements of the package are a great opportunity for streamlining and simplifying the procedures of the European Commission and improving the coherence and coordination of the activities of the Commission.
