The first Info-day was organized by the Centre for Development of the South-East Planning Region, within the framework of the project "Integrated Operations Center for Providing Humanitarian Assistance - HELP", on 08.10.2019, Tuesday, at the hotel "Sirius", Strumica.
The info day was attended by representatives of the Municipalities in the region, Red Cross, Directorate for Protection and Rescue, Crisis Management Center, Fire Brigades, Emergency Medical Services and other stakeholders from the South-East Planning Region.
The purpose of the Info Day was to promote the project to the stakeholders and familiarize them with the project objectives, activities that are going to be implemented and the results achieved so far within the project implementation.
Except for the project, the container that will be developed within the project and equipped with the most up-to-date communication equipment was also presented in details. Its technical features, design and software that will be installed were shown. Such a container is called Command, Control, Communication, Computers and Intelligence Center and will enable the improvement of the quality of public administration management in dealing with natural disasters and crises in the cross-border area, Greece - Republic of North Macedonia which is actually the main objective of project.
After the presentation, stakeholders developed a discussion on current problems they encounter in the exchange of information when natural disasters happen, which can be taken into account when designing this container in order for all stakeholders to respond more effectively and in a timely manner in dealing with a variety of crises.
The total project budget is 905.553,30 euros.
Duration of the project: 02.04.2018 - 30.06.2020.
The project is co-funded by the European Union and the National Funds of the participating countries through the Interreg Inter-border IPA Program CCI 2014 TC 16 I5CB 009.
Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) is part of the package for external relations. IPA and other elements of the package are a great opportunity for streamlining and simplifying the procedures of the European Commission and improving the coherence and coordination of the activities of the Commission.
