On 20th of November 2019 the XIII (thirteenth) Meeting of the Council for development of South-East planning region was held in the Municipality of Novo Selo, attended by the Mayors of the region, representatives of the municipalities and the Head of the Centre for development of the South-East planning region Ms. Gjurkova together with representatives of the Centre.



At the Session of the Mayor of the Municipality of Strumica, Mr. Janevski received again the support to coordinate the activities for balanced regional development for the next two years by all the Mayors from the region and was re-elected as President of the Council for development of the South-East planning region.

Тhe Mayors also adopted a Decision on awarding the Jubilee Award to the Head of the Centre for development of the South-East planning region, Ms. Gjurkova.

Concerning the Program for Balanced Regional Development for 2020, Ms Gjurkova informed all Mayors that according to the Decision on the classification of the planning regions according to the level of development, the South-East region acquires the right to use approximately 35,835,240.00 MKD and agreed as well as to hold the next session for a short period of time in order to establish the Annual List of project proposals that are a priority of the region for 2020.

At the end, the Mayors were also informed about the course of activities for some of the projects that the Centre is implementing, and for this purpose the implementation of the project "Agro-meteorological stations for protection of crops and environment", financed by the Ministry of Local Self-Government and the Swiss Agency for development and cooperation, was presented, through which will be provided modern technologies in agriculture by installment of 23 Agro-meteorological stations in all municipalities in the region.





Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) is part of the package for external relations. IPA and other elements of the package are a great opportunity for streamlining and simplifying the procedures of the European Commission and improving the coherence and coordination of the activities of the Commission.
